ORBIS Consulting Shanghai, tasked with the SAP rollout on behalf of L’Orange GmbH at two new sites in China has successfully achieved its goal. With the introduction of SAP software, L’Orange, a manufacturer of injection systems for ship propulsion systems, power plants, heavy-duty vehicles and railway systems, has consolidated its data and information flow across its locations and standardized and automated its business processes. Thanks to the consulting, product and process expertise of the ORBIS experts, the sales subsidiary in Suzhou and the production plant in Ningbo could be integrated into the central SAP ERP system in only six months.

The benefits of integrating operating procedures were soon felt after production startup for L’Orange, a company of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG. The Intercompany processing between China and the German site in Stuttgart is now swift, efficient and transparent, following the successful exchange of stock, order and material data in SAP ERP. The financial data of the Chinese subsidiaries are also consistently run through the SAP software. This has several advantages: Firstly, the local company ma- nagement can retrieve the financial data at any time, allowing the business development to be reviewed and more efficiently controlled in a transparent manner, while secondly, the German parent company now benefits from constantly accessible and updated financial figures on the economic growth of sites in China, which facilitates its efforts to plan and implement strategy in an even more targeted manner.
L’Orange has to conform to multiple regional regulations for the generation of financial statements and billing. For this, the company uses IT solutions from ORBIS. The financial reports are created with the SAP-based add-On „ORBIS FI Reporting-Package“, which provides the reports required by the revenue authorities in a preconfigured state. The smooth exchange of data with tax authorities, which has to be conducted via the state „Golden Tax“ system in China, ensures the ORBIS Golden Tax Interface (GTI) remains functional as a bidirectional interface between the ERP solution and the fiscal software.

Since L’Orange is leveraging SAP-ERP bring together all sites and companies under a single IT umbrella, this also paves the way to incorporate additional SAP modules or ABAP-based add-ons as required; swiftly and at minimal costs. Last but not least, there is scope in future to integrate new overseas companies formed in the course of expansion into the central SAP system.
